Drama LLama Mama

Hey there.

It was supposed to be a quiet day.  Babysitting for an hour or two.  Grocery shopping. Making a nice meal for dinner.  But Nooooooo.......

I was in Wilmington. Sara had an appointment. I forgot to get gas before I left New Jersey.  It was below a eighth of a tank, and I have a 40 minute ride home on 95 and 322.....  no where safe to run out of gas.  So I asked her to take my car to her appointment and stop to get $20 of gas - I hate pumping gas! (spoiled Jersey girl)

GB#5 and I had a great morning.  And he fell asleep on me at noon.  We watched Little Mermaid, and Monsters Inc and we started Monsters University.

Sara was ten blocks from home and a guy pulled out as Sara was driving thru an intersection.

He stopped behind her and jumped out and looked at the damage. Then he got back in the car and took off!

But- they had stopped in front of a house. The lady of the house was in her car in the driveway- and took a photo of the guys license plate!!!

Sara called the cops. They looked at the photo. He lived around the corner. The cops found him in his driveway! Got his insurance info and gave him two tickets!!!

By the way, not Sara's fault at all.  If I had been there I would have been hit.

I called my insurance. Lovely girl who was so nice. I gave an appointment tomorrow morning at Caliper Collision in Delsea drive in Clayton.

Let’s just hope the guy isn’t lying about his insurance.

The passenger door, the rear passenger door, the back panel above the tire, and the wheel itself are all scraped up.

So of course no time for a grocery store trip, not the way I shop these days (one trip a week is it!) so we ordered Chinese.  Egg rolls, lettuce wraps, and soup.

Tomorrow I have a 9 am appointment for the estimate.... have a return for CVS

(test strips for the glucometer were $76 this morning, with insurance!.  I have another meter I found at home, so I called and CVS will refund my purchase.  )

And then I am doing the grocery trip.

Then I have hours and hours of church stuff to do.

Ok! Enough for now.

Stay safe at home!

Monday

Me and my buddy

Not sure why that photo is on its side. Why does this have to be so complicated?

Went to work today. We have an upcoming funeral, outdoor communion, a spoken service n July 19, and the regular Sunday stuff. Gotta get busy. And the copier doesn’t recognize my lap top any more. Again, why does this have to be so complicated?

Went to Joanne’s after work. While I have missed browsing and shopping I hate hate hate wearing the mask in the hot hot hot store. I bought some fabric, some card stock, and a bubble machine.

Once home Sara and Elliot visited. He is standing unassisted for a few seconds. Probably stood for twenty times. He’s so cute. Sara asked me to come tomorrow while she runs an errand. Yes, please!

Had dinner from Steak Out. D#4 had a buffalo chicken salad, and I got two sandwiches: meatball parm and Italian pork.  Delicious!

Finally I texted Cousin#2. We arrive in Rehoboth on August 7 and I will stay til the 12th. I’m staying with cousin #2 and her husband, and Cousin#5 and his wife and staying there, too.  And cousin#3 is next door. And #6 lives across the street! I can’t wait. I love these people! Still need to find out what #1 and #4 are doing.

Enough for now! Stay safe at home.

Sunday

Hey there.

I didn't write a post yesterday.  Instead I finished up Friday's.

Yesterday I was busy.  Not sure what got into me.  I found a Bitty Baby stroller for grandbaby #4 on Facebook Market place, so we got up and out and went to pick it up. When GB#4 was here last Sunday she was intrigued with the Cabbage Patch I have.  We gave her a Bitty Baby when she was born, and D#3 says she keeps it by her bed.  I"m hoping to make friends the next time we visit - she is still unsure of me.

Then I started playing Suzy Homemaker.  I baked some chicken that had been in the freezer too long.  I used part of it to make a chicken pot pie for dinner, and the rest to make some chicken salad.  I also made a pan of brownies (from a box - don't get too excited!) with peanut butter chips.

Then I decided I had put off for too long a sewing project.  Seriously, the receipt in the bag of fabric said I bought it in 2014.  I will try to upload a photo of it.
I am addicted to tote bags.  If I see one in the store my first thought is I must buy that.  I've learned that it's an addiction and talk myself out of buying.
Anyway, this one only took about three hours to cut, sew, and finish.  I really like it.  Only thing missing is some sort of closure.  Still thinking about that.  I need to stop at Joanne's tomorrow to get some more fabric.  I'd love to make a bunch to give away. (Yeah, I always plan big and then don't follow thru) and now that I've done one the rest will be easy.

Today has been uneventful.  Didn't get up until 9:30am because the dog was insisting. Made breakfast - scrambled eggs with some sauteed onion, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.  Two pieces of toast, one to eat with the eggs, and one with strawberry jam.  and some sausages.

We met D#33 and her wife at Cracker Barrel. Wife has been making and selling dinners every other Sunday.  She made BBQ chicken with potato salad and green beans, corn bread and cookies. Honestly, it is so nice to have someone else cook.  It was hot, and baby was asleep, so it was a short visit.  Came home and ate since we didn't have lunch. Soooo good.  Then I packed some up for my MIL, and added a piece of potpie from yesterday and some chicken salad.

After we delivered it, I started working on my July newsletter.  I hope it's okay to copy off tomorrow when I'm at the office.  I am going to hand out the devotionals and while I"m there I can use the copier.  I still need stamps....

I guess it's time to start thinking about dinner.......

and how to find some audience for this thing.

Ok. Enough for now.
Stay safe at home!
